Tu rol diario
You'll invest the majority of your time in three key areas:
- The Director, of General Accounting, will be accountable for timely, reliable, and accurate financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- This role will be responsible for leading and developing staff including Accounts Payable and General Accounting professionals while encouraging process improvement and innovation.
- The Director will also play an integral role in preparing for future growth within the US market.
Specifically, you will:
- Lead, assign, and assess the work of US accounting teams ensuring that the quality of work meets and exceeds established standards while providing feedback for continuous improvement
- Establish and strengthen cross-functional and cross-border relationships
- Ensure service level commitments to internal customers are met
- Review monthly financial statements and account reconciliations
- Understand and communicate costing and account variance analyses
- Ensure system integrity in monthly activity
- Prepare quarterly consolidation and country-wide reporting package
- Oversight of tax planning and filing including but not limited to sales & use tax, business tax, and corporate state and federal filings
- Reconcile inter-company balances
- Lead quarterly reviews and year-end audits in partnership with external auditors
- Budget and financial forecast preparation and maintenance
- Prepare regular correspondence and reports to keep the managers and executive staff updated
- Ensures compliance with accounting and business policies.
You will bring the following to the business:
- A proven track record of strong performance and measurable results
- Knowledgeable about cost accounting, transfer pricing, and the US corporate tax laws
- Knowledge of the complete accounting cycle
- Willing to face challenges and take on added responsibilities
- Must be comfortable in working with multi-disciplined and multi-cultural team members
- Knowledge of computerized financial information systems
Tu perfil
- A minimum of Ten years of Controller experience
- Previous supervisory experience is necessary
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Management
- Accounting Designation – CA, CMA, MBA or CGA
- Manufacturing experience a plus
- Experience in processed and packaged food industry preferred
