Maintenance Journeyman

Nortera Lethbridge is a manufacturing facility that processes and packages frozen vegetables. We harvest peas and corn locally as well as package different frozen vegetables grown in different regions. We are currently seeking motivated Industrial Mechanics and Electricians to join our Maintenance team.

Harvest: Choice of 8 hour or 12 hour shifts (plant runs 24/7 from July - Mid Oct) 

Non - Harvest: Mon - Friday 8 Hour Shifts 

Your daily role

  • Ensures operation of machinery and electrical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on processing and packaging equipment, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications, and troubleshooting malfunctions
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using test equipment ans hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, using precision measuring, and testing instruments
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
  • Adheres to all plant safety rules and procedures at all times
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor

Your profile

  • Journeyman Certificate in Millwright or Electrician (related certifications may be considered)
  • Possess strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach.
  • Possess their own tools in order to perform maintenance and/or repairs.
  • Understand regulations regarding safety, quality, sanitary design, and GMPs in a food plant.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team building skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts (Days, Afternoons and Nights)
